As coaches and mentors came before him in Hackensack, such as Harry Doremus, Carl Padovano, Nellie K. Parker,
E. Frederic Morrow, Tom Dellatore, Billy Watson, Joe DeFalco, and many others, Walter Carroll has become one of those people who cares about the youth of Hackensack. He let them know they have traditions and responsibilities to uphold when attending Hackensack Schools and becoming good citizens.
